Uganda’s Oil pipeline affected locals want revaluation of their properties, NGO report

THE OFUALOKA POST HOIMA │The delayed compensation of persons who were affected during the land acquisition for the multi-billion Oil Refinery project in Kabaale parish in Hoima district years back, has started resurfacing as the government acquires land for the 1,443 km East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project.

On April 11th, 2021, President Yoweri Museveni and his Tanzanian counterpart, Samia Hassan Suluhu signed the East African Crude Oil Pipeline project agreement in Kampala. Construction of the oil pipeline is expected to kick off soon.
